Don't ever let me cut your hair...

I don't actually know how to prune anything. But that doesn't stop me from pruning everything.

Planting and Puttering

I'm starting to pick up the pace in the garden lately because the weather's been unseasonably warm. I've been getting to do a few things I'd been thinking of for quite a while. For example, I planted the agave above in a converted bathtub planter. This was kind of a big deal for me, because this particular agave has been haunting me for months. I saw it at Sunset Nursery in October, but decided that I didn't really need it, even though I thought it was so so pretty. Well, I took a picture of it on my cel phone before I left. Since then I've decided that if you can't stop thinking about a freaking plant for months, then you actually do need it. But I haven't even told you the best part of this story yet....

A Moldy Setback

I had to move my worm bin outdoors this weekend. It's a bummer but things got a little funky in there and I had to do a little damage control. I suggest you not be eating anything if you're going to read on...

Winter Doldrums

Sorry it's been a while since I've posted. It's been so gray and cold lately I haven't been inspired to do much of anything inside or outside. But the days are getting longer, and hopefully warmer also, so I should have something to show soon. Erin will have some fun stuff soon too. In the meantime, at least my cymbidium orchid has bloomed and given me something to photograph. I thought this orchid was a dud because it never gave me flowers. Turns out I just needed to wait two years for this diva to finally bloom. Oh and I actually remembered to fertilize it this fall. That helped too probably.
